We had built the couple’s first home adjacent to this project five years previously. The design brief meeting covered their raised expectations and requirements based on their previous experience.

Design

The donor property for this replacement dwelling was a single storey bungalow measuring around 150m². As you can see this is a great example of what can be achieved by demolishing an out of date dwelling and replacing with a larger, modern, energy efficient home.

Co-ordination

The plot is an unusual shape being very wide and not very deep. The open plan design allows for early morning and late evening views over the side gardens and ‘through the house’ views over the fields at the rear.

This home includes new eco innovations and higher levels of thermal efficiency and airtightness.

Delivery

After a close tendering period and with our assistance and guidance, a local builder was appointed. Working in conjunction with our materials procurement package and supported at all stages by our team, his attention to detail from the Flemish bond brickwork to the wall and floor tiling produced the quality finish expected by the clients.
