This client, having taken early retirement, bought a house with the benefit of outline planning consent to build two properties in the garden. His ambition for this development was to build a large quality single dwelling that needed a good well thought out design.
Due to the sloping nature of the site, our client visited our Design Studio to discuss his Wish List. Following the meeting we prepared initial plans a four storey dwelling which incorporated a large basement, attic accommodation and swimming pool.
To gain the approval of the Planners, externally the dwelling needed to be of a traditional appearance. However, internally our client’s requirement was to incorporate a fully home automated system, high tech imported German kitchen with indoor pool and sliding/folding patio doors leading onto the raised veranda.
As the site was close to Sheffield City Centre this presented our Materials Department with certain challenges associated with deliveries, however, with the assistance of a proven network builder of ours, these were overcome.
The external materials were stock facing bricks, Oak windows and doors, natural slate roof with solid walls and floors throughout.
